On April 1, 2026, Infaq Foundation, in partnership with SPIFF Medical Center, provided much-needed food assistance to Sudanese refugee families living in Kiteezi, Uganda. A small act of compassion making a big difference amid ongoing hardship.

Kiteezi, Wakiso District – April 1, 2026

In the face of one of the world’s largest displacement crises, a ray of hope shone in Kiteezi as Infaq Foundation, in close collaboration with SPIFF Medical Center, successfully carried out a targeted food relief distribution for Sudanese refugee families.
The project, which falls under Infaq Foundation’s Food Relief and Security initiatives, reached vulnerable Sudanese refugees who have sought safety in Uganda following the prolonged conflict in Sudan. Many of these families continue to face acute food insecurity, especially with recent reductions in international aid rations affecting thousands of refugees across the country.

A Timely Intervention

On the 1st of April 2026, our teams came together to distribute essential food packs containing staples such as rice, beans, maize flour, cooking oil, sugar, and high-energy nutritious items suitable for both adults and children. The relief was carefully organized to ensure dignity and fairness, with volunteers from both organizations working side by side to serve the families.

Many of the beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude, sharing stories of how the ongoing crisis back home had forced them to flee with little more than their lives. For some, this was the first substantial food support they had received in weeks.

One beneficiary, a mother of four, shared: “We have been struggling every day to feed our children. Today, we can sleep knowing our family will eat proper meals. May God bless the hands that made this possible.”

Strong Partnership in Action

This initiative was made possible through the strong collaboration between Infaq Foundation and SPIFF Medical Center. While Infaq Foundation focused on the food security aspect, SPIFF Medical Center provided valuable on-ground support, including health awareness talks and basic medical checks for families during the distribution.

The partnership reflects our shared commitment to holistic humanitarian support — addressing not just immediate hunger, but also the broader needs of displaced communities in Uganda.

Looking Ahead

This distribution in Kiteezi is part of our ongoing efforts to respond swiftly to humanitarian needs across Uganda. We remain committed to expanding our reach to more refugee families and integrating food security with other pillars such as healthcare access and economic empowerment.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the volunteers, donors, and partners who made this project possible. Your continued support enables us to turn compassion into concrete action.

Together, we are not just feeding bodies — we are restoring hope.
